3d-Radar

3d-Radar AS was formed in 2001 in Trondheim, as a spin-off from NTNU, University of Trondheim, Norway.

In 2007, 3d-Radar was acquired by a Norwegian company, called VMETRO. In October 2008, VMETRO was acquired by Curtiss-Wright Controls and by that 3d-Radar became a part of Curtiss-Wright Controls. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing provides commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) board- and system-level embedded computer products for applications in Aerospace & Defense, Industrial, Communications, Medical, Enterprise Computing and Network Storage.

Just as Curtiss-Wright, 3d-Radar products offer the highest levels of performance, innovation and reliability by applying state-of-the-art technology within the framework of well established industry standards.

On the 11th of November 2010, 3d-Radar was awarded with Dagens Næringsliv price “Gasellen vinner” in South Trøndelag. This is a award to recognize all the fast growing companies throughout Norway and 3d-Radar was the fastest growing company in it’s district.
“-This is something that I’m very proud of and it feels very good to get this recognition of the hard work we all have put into this” says Dr Egil Eide, founder and Managing Director of 3d-Radar. he further continues “this shows that we were right in our dreams of commercialization of my Ph.d work”.
