Web browser plug-in for transfer and visualization of 3D graphics on Linux
The main goal of this project is to implement a Linux Web browser plug-in that can receive a 3D model over the Internet and display it in a Web browser on an end-user computer. The Web browser plug-in must be implemented using Netscape NSAPI / Gecko, which is the main API used for most Web browser plug-ins. The transfer protocol must use TCP/IP, and possibly UDP (for live content) if there is time. The 3D model will use common formats used in OpenGL, Maya, and other formats, with shader support if there is time. The 3D model must be visualized with the latest OpenGL library, support for prior OpenGL versions and “low-end” graphics cards, if there is time. A stand-alone desktop application must also be implemented, if time. Source code and documentation will be provided. Prior experience with C++ is necessary. We can also offer a stay in USA at Mojave Airport and Spaceport in California.
